I was having a cruddy week and wanted to wallow alone. Luckily for me, I have friends and family who care about me and refuse to let me throw myself a pity party. My cousin came over first thing in the morning to take me out to eat. I’ve been wanting to try Turkish/middle eastern food for a while and finally found that I don’t really like it. The magical shawarma experience that I had in Paris could not be recreated. I finally got to wear my ’Murca flag bandana because I can’t think of any other situation where it would be not douchey. The family’s 4th of July plans got muddled up so I spent the rest of the day playing with my adorable nephew and watching Breaking Bad with my sister.
The next day, my biffle came over with ice cream and a postcard.
Ice cream solves all problems!!!!
We threw a haphazard baby shower for my cousin who’s expecting baby #2.
Baby #1 meet Baby #2
On 4th of July weekend,we had a BBQ consisting of Korean beef and spicy pork, halal chicken and shrimp burgers. Half the family was in China so it wasn’t quite as festive as the past years. Then I realized the irony of our food choices. But hey, that’s what America is a all about, right? A big melting pot of cultures.
